Sadly, most people don't realize the vital role feeps played in taming the wild West. Our schools don't emphasize the heroism and good old American grit feeps showed in raising crops, building railroads, and steering their teeny covered wagons into new and unknown territory.
Do you have any idea how long it takes to get across the country when you move at a rate of about 20 feet an hour?
