What to think about a door that is simply labeled "known point," and then tightly shut? One has to assume that, along with transporting the stones and artifacts of European cloisters to New York, they also inadvertently transported a few of the resident ghosts or demons. You know, the sorts of things that can't be destroyed, but have to be sealed with wards behind thick doors, and are spoken of only in hushed whispers for centuries. Oopsie!

Nestled within Fort Tryon Park is a collection of buildings known as The Cloisters, a mashup of several medieval buildings imported from Europe by one of New York's eccentric rich people (one John D. Rockefeller, Jr., perhaps you've heard of him). There's a museum inside, but sadly we were there on a Monday and the museum is closed Mondays, so we had to content ourselves with wandering around the outside.
