Feeping Creatures Pink Fuzzy Baby Monster onesie

I'm at that age where all my friends are having kids, so over the last couple of years I've cranked out quite a few feep onesies. I finally managed to make a few more than I need, and have put them up in the Feeping Creatures Etsy Store.

Feeping Creatures Anti-Valentine Monster Card

I've been making cards of various sorts for years, with a particular focus on anti-valentines. I have only just now gotten around to printing up cards and offering them for sale, but at long last it is done (for one design, at least).

Bejabalo's Commission

This drawing was a commission I did for a holiday gift. The name and concept for the monster were the invention of the couple, and the girlfriend wanted me to draw it up all fancy as a surprise present for her boyfriend. The monster is called the Bejabalo, so I'm guessing the room it's hanging in is the Bejabalo's den (or possibly restaurant and bar).

I found a pair of frames in the discount bin: one says "Sweet Baby Boy" on it, the other says "Sweet Baby Girl." I, of course, could not resist this prompt. Here's "Sweet Baby Girl."

A new piece I finished this week, and which I shall have for sale at ArmadilloCon. It kind of reminds me of the Grinch, though I wasn't trying for any similarity. Nevertheless, I am unable to deny the Seuss/Jones influence in my life.

Observe the fruits of my labor from this weekend! I have here six different feep buttons (the idea here is that they'll be $1 each or 6 for $5, y'see). My success rate has gone up to about 90%, so I'm definitely getting the hang of this process.

Very close to done with getting all the new stuff listed. I put up all the shirts yesterday, now I have but to list a handful of feep figurines (and Monday I get the restock on mugs and shot glasses, so those also will go up soon). Whew!

I also set up a Feeping Creatures Fan Page on Facebook last night, so if you're on the FB, you should be able to find and befriend said page here. If you have any feeps of your own you can post fan photos there, a practice I would greatly like to encourage.

I set it up to import this blog, but when the posts show up in the feed it only shows the text and not the photo. Since the photo is pretty much the whole point I may de-link the blog. Dunno yet.

I am up with the dawn today to go set up for the Wheatsville Arts Festival. It is, just so you know, 26 degrees F outside right now. This means you are obligated to come to the Festival to justify my having gotten up so early on such a cold morning. I will expect to see you there.

30th & Guadalupe, Austin, 10:00 AM to 5:00-ish PM. Non-Austinites are not off the hook.

White Board Monster

A known risk of putting me anywhere near a white board is that I shall inevitably cover it with doodles alike unto this one. (The red cast is from doing an auto level adjust in Photoshop; I rather liked it, so I left it that way.)

Daily Monster Mug

You may recall a couple of months ago I posted the prototype for a feep coffee mug. Well, yesterday I submitted to the printer the final designs for all the new mug, shirts, and shot glasses (yes, I said shot glasses!). If all goes well, I shall have these items in my clutches in a couple of weeks, just in time for Wheatsville.

For obvious reasons, the Daily Monster needed to be on a coffee mug, but the drawing didn't quite fit the template. So I added a bit of feepish heraldry, for is not coffee a bit of a ritualistic indulgence?

Tusked Fire Monster ACEO and another show

Turns out I'm going to be in another show this month in addition to the Amy's Spooky Art Show. This one's going to be at the Hideout at 7th & Congress, and is an Austin Sketch Group show. It should be going up today, and will run through the month of October. Not sure yet about if and when there will be a reception, but I'll let you know when I find out.

Blue Furry Tree Monster

As you might be aware, I do pretty much all of my art my hand: no moulds for the figurines, little to no digital manipulation of the drawings. (This is not due to any disdain for those sorts of things, just my own preferences for what makes the creative process enjoyable for me.)

This monster is one of my first genuine attempts at computer coloring. The line art is all hand-drawn, but the color is entirely digital. It was an interesting experience. Not necessarily one to make me abandon my gouache and art markers, but fun in its own right.
