The first feeps of 2012 have begun rising from the depths and crawling from the crevices. I'll be adding them to the Etsy store throughout the week. Let us begin with the tiniest version of the largest animal on earth.

Feeps and Giant Fuzzy Caterpillar - victory!

The final decision: one brave feep will stand for a photo with the possibly very dangerous fuzzy caterpillar, while the rest will back away to a safe distance, lest the flash enrages the beast.

Making a feep platypus was harder than it might seem. There's always something a bit more difficult about making a feep version of an animal that's essentially already a living feep.

Do cat snakes eat rat snakes? If the behave anything like their mammalian counterparts, they just try really, really hard to ignore this thing that is intruding on their lap space.

A commission done for a kid's room. I did actually find a reference photo of a tiger with a goofy, smiling expression; it looked very dog-like.

Sailing the ocean of faux wood.

Real-life narwhals are actually far cuter than the feep version. It's true!

Grey Shrewrat

This was originally supposed to be a rat, but the nose came out more shrewlike, if you ask me. But people kept calling it a rat. So it's a shrewrat.

Feep Pig

A couple of months ago I was commissioned to make a feep pig, and this was the result. That's not a petri dish, by the way: it's sitting in a lid because the glaze I put on it was still drying as I was taking these pictures, so I needed to be able to move it without touching it.

Owl Feep ACEO

I did this drawing of an owl feep as a gift for a friend who really likes owls. I haven't had much time lately to work on ACEOs, which is why you haven't seen any new ones from me lately. I have a stack that are inked and just need to be colored, though, so perhaps I'll be able to get those done in time for STAPLE!

Legless Lizard

No, a Legless Lizard is not the same thing as a snake.

Nor is the British slang definition of "legless" applicable here. To the best of my knowledge, feeps are not given over to excessive drunkenness.

Orange Snake

I don't make a whole lot of snakes because it turns out many people's snake phobia extends even into the small and cute and make of clay. The feep snakes tend to go home with snake enthusiasts, but these people are greatly outnumbered by the, uh, anti-enthusiasts.

Blue Rat

Perhaps rats make good feeps because of the beady eyes. Oh, and the concentrated mischief.

Twisty Blue Glow Lizard

Being glow-in-the-dark does make it a bit harder to hide from predators after you've been sunning yourself all day.

Sugar Glider Feep

One of a set of three sugar glider feeps I was commissioned to make. Amusingly, their feep incarnations are not much smaller than the actual sugar gliders themselves.
