Purple Makara

A Makara, for those of you who don't know, is an Indian river monster whose form amuses me and lends itself to feepiness.

What you see here is a drawing I finished recently, featuring another of my makara incarnations.

Foo Dog and Feeps

My friend Melita Curphy (a.k.a. Miss Monster) recently had a toy made of her Foo Dog design. I obtained one such toy and introduced it to the feeps. I am now wondering if this was such a great idea, and if I'm not going to come home to a pile a rubble one of these days.

Feep Makara

When I was in Seattle recently I went to the Seattle Asian Art Museum, and one of the exhibits they had up was The Royal Paintings of Jodhpur, a series of paintings from the 17th through the 19th century, most featuring scenes from Hindu mythology. A number of the paintings featured the makara, an elephant-headed crocodile that doesn't look much like either an elephant or a crocodile:

What it did look like was something that needed to be feepified, so I decided to make one. And here are the results:
