Striped Spider

The spider does a bit of QC on a sheet of feep buttons-to-be.

Butterfly Face Wine Charm

Probably best paired with dry wines, lest it mistake your beverage for a sugary nectar.

Striped Spider

Looking, one presumes, for striped insects to consume.

Beebat ACEO

I'm guessing the beebat is omnivorous, perhaps starting off with a pollen salad before hitting the main course of flying insects.

Treetop Monsters

I just finished this yesterday. I'm not actually 100% certain those are treetops. Originally I think the background stuff was going to be rocks or sea floor or something, but then I found an awesome frame that begged for a lot of green in the piece, so they're vaguely tree-ish now. Maybe moss-covered stones. That works, too.

I'm going to be out of town the rest of the week, so I shall resume the blog next Monday.

Earwig Doll

Someday, when I have free time again (that'll totally happen, right?), I will make more feep dolls. After all, the world needs more stuffed earwigs.

Feep Parade

Feeps will march with enthusiasm for sure, but focus? You want focus? Focus is for monsters who don'tWHOA, shiny thing!

Purple & Gold Spider

I mean, come on, does a spider really need more than three eyes?

Butterfly Dragon

While this dragon may seem harmless at first, it sleeps on beds of hoarded pollen and breathes a deadly blast of allergens.

Praying Mantis ACEO

I recall a picture book I read as a child that suggested keeping a pet praying mantis on a string so it could devour any bugs in your room. Obviously that wouldn't work too well for the mantis unless you're an especially filthy kid, in which case one praying mantis is not going to solve your problems.

Monster Family Portraits 4

The latest in the Monster Family Portraits series (wherein I take a multi-window mat intended for pictures of the kids or whatever and fill it up with monsters).

Purple Ant

At a show a few years ago a little boy was telling me which feeps he liked and which ones he didn't like (a few of them he thought were scary). He asked which ones I liked and didn't like. I am fond of all my feeps, but he demanded an answer to "didn't like," so I picked out this ant since I despise actual real-life ants.

The boy's dad came by shortly thereafter, at which point the boy informed him, "He doesn't like that one because he hates ants!" I think I may have tried to explain what I meant by "didn't like," but dad was doing that parental nodding thing and didn't really seem to be in need of further clarification.

Weevilsaur

Prehistoric weevils were, of course, much larger than their counterparts of today, sometimes as big as 2 or 3 inches across. Which means cotton bolls were also significantly larger than the modern incarnation. Just as well for the makeup-wearing dinosaur, who would never have been able to get anywhere with the tiny little puffs we have now.

Weevil Dinosaur (black & white)

This photo was taken by Dan Machold using black & white film (yes, it had to be devloped and everything; you young people won't know what I'm talking about). There are more b&w feeps on his Flickr page.

Fat Spider

This morning as I was making coffee I watched a spider on the window ouside as it wrapped up a bug meal. I should make more spider feeps.

Scaredy Monster

Yet another ACEO, and one of my current eBay auctions.

"OOAK" means "One-Of-A-Kind" for those of you not familiar with the personals-like flurry of abbreviations common to eBay listings.
