Sprout Feep Baby Tee

There is a veritable baby boom amongst my friends. At a recent shower there were blank shirts and fabric markers set out, so I made this feep shirt for the impending infant.

Dog Monster Shirt

I don't think I ever showed you how the Dog Monster shirts turned out. Here's one on a Women's cut.

Which, by the way, I have learned is different from a babydoll cut in certain key ways. (I have babydoll cuts in stock also, but I wound up ordering women's cuts as well.) Basically, it's a cross between your standard t-shirt style and a babydoll. So narrower shoulders and shorter sleeves, but not as tight on the torso as a babydoll.

That red halo is from using a flash when taking this picture. I have also learned that clothing photography is something of a black art, and one which I have clearly not mastered. Time to sell the ol' soul, I guess.

Dog Monster Mug

Working, working, working on getting all the new shirts photographed and resultant images prepped. Yes, I took pictures of the actual, IRL shirts in each size instead of Photoshopping a bunch of mockups because, I guess, I'm kind of insane. In theory I should only have to do this once for each design, though, so it's not actually as bad as it seems.

At any rate, I hope to have the new shirts up in the Feep eBay Store later on today. There are also a few figurines left to list, but the mugs and shot glasses are already up. So. There you have it.

Curly Dog Monster shirt design

Working on a new t-shirt design. This may be hard to see, but you can click on the picture to make it bigger. Anyway, I've had this feep on a shirt before but was never really happy with the background. On this version, the black diamonds are the shirt color (which will presumably be black, because most of my shirts tend to be).

Shirt Feep

A few years ago, when I was working on the design for the feep drawing I was going to put on my silkscreen t-shirts, I tried to draw something that looked sort of like something I'd sculpt. I'd never actually made a feep exactly like that, though, so of course I had to turn around and sculpt a feep based on the shirt feep.

These days I use the feep drawings to create monsters that would be difficult to sculpt - might as well work to the strengths of the given medium - and I will eventually come out with a new silkscreen design that's more 2D-focused. But this one has served me well for some time, and certainly has a canonical feep look to it.

Space Earwig iron-on

I've opened a Feeping Creatures Etsy store as a way to maintain an online shop when I'm at shows (I typically take the eBay store down to avoid accidentally double-selling anything), and to take advantage of a marketplace that's specifically geared to handmade items and small runs of reproductions from independent artists.

One of the new items I'm offering are feep iron-ons, made from some of my favorite Feep drawings, so that people can make their own feep shirts. This is especially useful for making shirts for kids since I can't really maintain a huge selection of every size and every color of shirt.

The Etsy store is also going to have listings for a lot of the art that I don't cart to shows, as well as (eventually) a representative gallery of the most popular figurine styles. I'll be adding a lot of stuff over the next couple of weeks, so check back frequently.

New shirts for ArmadilloCon

ArmadilloCon starts later today, and I've been working on getting some new stuff ready for the show. I made a handful of t-shirts with my artwork on them: these are done with dark-transfer inkjet iron ons, which I have been experimenting with and have found to be satisfactorily durable (just don't put 'em in the dryer, okay?). If you've been to The Stash you'll have seen a few of these around, but this will be the first time I've brought 'em out for a convention (well, I had one at CAPE, but that doesn't really count). I'm still tweaking the designs a little, so think of these as proofs.
