At the very first feep show I ever did (First Thursday on South Congress in Austin in April of 2004) I had a steady stream of people asking me if I made turtles. Until that point it hadn't occurred to me. Ever since then I've been sure to have at least one turtle on the table, since turtles turn out to have a lot of fans all over the place.
