Ancient Feep

This picture was taken at the main branch of the Austin Public Library.

Lavender Tentacle Twist

And you think it's bad when your cat is sitting on the keyboard. The Tentacle Twist gets probably 250 wpm, and is not averse to starting flame wars on internet poetry sites.

Dungeons & Dragons Bard Feep

Another D&D Feep, this time a lute with an eyeball. Insetting the strings, which are pieces of wire, turned out to be more difficult than I expected. The wire was very fine and flexible, so just pinching it between my fingers would cause it to bow. Next time: use more rigid wire.

Pink Rat

The Daily Monster returns! MoCCA went extremely well, and I'm definitely hoping to go again next year. Hopefully next time I'll have my full compliment of convention stuff, like magnets, t-shirts, art, and so forth. But even without all that is was a great show and I'm very glad to have had the opportunity to go.

Curly Glow Chomper

Service Advisory: I'm going to be at MoCCA all weekend, so there's a good chance I won't be able to update the blog for the next couple of days. If not, see you on Monday!

Weevil Dinosaur (black & white)

This photo was taken by Dan Machold using black & white film (yes, it had to be devloped and everything; you young people won't know what I'm talking about). There are more b&w feeps on his Flickr page.

Fiery Tentacle Twist

I've actually already posted a different picture of this exact feep, but this photo by Dan is drastically superior to the one I took.

Armored Feep

I'm not quite sure why a feep might need armor, although they are generally pretty small and therefore a likely target for predators. And, I have to say, many people have told me the feeps look quite edible (they're not, by the way), so perhaps the armor is to protect it from you.

Feeps at MoCCA

For those of you in and around New York City, I'm going to be selling a limited selection of feeps at the MoCCA Art Fest (June 23-24). Limited because I just found out I got in after being on the waitlist for a table. I didn't have a chance to get much stuff together, but I really wanted to do this show and am glad for the opportunity. I'll be giving away free feep minidrawings, so stop by if you get a chance!

Red Spiky Vulture

I guess I called this one a vulture because it's got a hooked beak that isn't quite a snoot. It's got a more heron-ish body, though, and kind of a dragon-ish neck, so it might be more accurate to call it a vulhergon. Except "vulhergon" will turn out to mean something obscene in some foreign language, and won't I be embarrassed then.

Black & Purple Slug

One of the new feeps I listed in my most recent eBay store update. The color scheme is based on a new species of frog that was recently discovered.

Tentacle Brain

Mixing just the right color for "brain" turns out to be a weird challenge, but I feel I'm up to it.

Adrenaline Mouse ACEO

One of my current ACEO auctions on eBay.

I think we know who's going to get volunteered to bell the cat.

The Daily Monster

I drew this as a masthead image for this blog and keep forgetting to figure out how to actually put it up there at the top of the page. One of these days ....

Pink & Blue Corkscrew

Corkscrews are a a whole class of feep unto themselves, and are typically glow-in-the-dark. To the best of my knowledge you can't actually open a bottle of wine with them, so probably best not to try.

Groucho

Okay, if it were really a Groucho Feep it would have a moustache and a cigar. Still, those eyebrows.

Fire Kraken

I am quite fond of this color combination of clay. In general I tend to use lots of greens and blues and purples, giving the hot end of the spectrum a bit of a miss, but any day is a good day to make a fire monster.

This is another of the Feeps I put up for sale at The Stash in South Austin.

Sleeping Frost Cagon ACEO

A "Cagon" is a cat/dragon hybrid, in case you couldn't tell. This is one of the ACEOs I'll be listing on eBay later today.

Tentacle Angler

Yesterday I took a bunch of feep shirts, accessories, art, and figurines to a little shop/art gallery in Austin called The Stash to put them up for consignment, including the betentacled creature you see here (sitting on The Stash's counter). Yes, this means feeps are now available for retail sale in good ol' Austin, and you can go browse at your whim. The Stash is located at South 1st Street and Live Oak, and they're having their grand re-opening this weekend, so stop by and check 'em out!

Dungeons & Dragons Ranger Feep

Another of the commissioned Feep D&D figurine set. Very Errol Flynn.
