Ren Feeps - Tentacle Cat and Llama

Llamas are not entirely un-feeplike, as it so happens.

Ren Feeps - Shakespeare

Feeps are all about iambic pentameter and rhyming couplets.

Ren Feeps - Tentacle Cat Knight

Yesterday I went to Sherwood Forest Faire, the new Ren Faire just outside of Austin. The Tentacle Cat accompanied me, and the resulting photos shall be assaulting your eyeballs over the next few days.

Red & Blue Vulture Dragon

Vulture dragons are basically nature's clean-up crew, after the regular dragons have finished destroying all those farms and villages.

Purple von Snoot Snake Orneryment

So maybe I like my potholders to be festooned with monsters. You got a problem with that?

Friday, March 26, 2010

Ski Hat Coil Cyclops

Feeps are not without a touch of vanity.

Thursday, March 25, 2010

Purple & Yellow Snail

I truly have no idea how many feeps to bring to San Diego. Besides all of them. It is, you see, a couple of orders of magnitude larger than any other show I've done.

Curly-Horned Demon Necklace

My professional registration came through for San Diego Comic-Con 2010, so I'll officially be there at the PRISM Comics table. I expect it shall be madness incarnate. SDCC is July 22-25, and it looks like the only day with passes still available is Sunday, so I guess if you're gonna go you should either get on it or have already gotten on it.

This will be the feeps' first official west coast show, by the way.

Red Round Coil

I have lately been thinking once more that I need to have fake Latin names for these things. "Round Red Coil" doesn't sound all that exciting, but Rotundus Rooibos twistonomicus might. But my perfectionist streak would want the Latin to be Correct, even if I personally wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Squip Eating a Chocolate Feep

I don't think it counts as cannibalism.

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Demon Silhouette

You'll be glad of all those pictures you have of them when they're young. They outgrow their exoskeletons so fast, and before you know it they've undergone metamorphosis.

Saturday, March 20, 2010

Coil-Eared Cyclops

Hum. Perhaps no Ren Faire after all, what with the loudness of the booming of the thunder. Stupid nature!

Friday, March 19, 2010

Green & Gold Dragon

I'm supposed to go to the Ren Faire tomorrow, so of course they're forecasting thunderstorms. Nevertheless, I'll see if I can remember to bring a feep or two along for photos.

Purple Nautilus Necklace

It really doesn't do to be a pendant that's afraid of heights.

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Purple & Green Turtle

Spring has sprung, 'round here at least, and the reptiles are slowly emerging.

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Purple Squid

Spent the entire night dreaming I was unable to get to sleep. Curiously, I'm feeling very un-rested today.

Monday, March 15, 2010

Copper & Green Sprite

Sometimes known to stow away in banana boats.

Shelled Tentacles

Somewhere ... out there ... is an entire hour of the day, run off to find its fortune. It leaves behind a vague feeling of guilt for getting up at 12:30, even though really it's only 11:30, really, I mean, that's so much less bad.

Saturday, March 13, 2010

Tentacoil

Being ensnared by tentacles is one thing, but being ensnared by a book ... so much more dangerous!

Friday, March 12, 2010

Ski Hat Coil

That CD case the feep is standing on - an artifact whose useful lifespan is limited, and which will one day prompt young people to ask, "What the heck did you use this for?" [NB: In the future, young people will all be saying "heck." Mark my words!]

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Horned Mustache Slug

If you are so inclined you may sing "Mustache Slug" to the tune of "Muskrat Love," but it is not required.

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Tentacle Cat

I recently realized I needed to be making more cats with tentacles. I mean, sure, it seems obvious now, much like the wheel, or camera phones. But some things don't really take ahold of the brain* until you give them a name.

* I don't mean that literally, just to clarify.

Squips and Etsy

Two new things of note:

1. I had mentioned recently that a new variety of feep has emerged. I've decided it's probably called a "squip," unless it later turns out to be called something else (sorta like brontosaurus and apatosaurus). "Squid whip" is what I'm thinkin' here.

2. I'm going to be migrating the online feep store over to Etsy, and have begun the process by listing the newest batch of feeps on there. You can find the feep Etsy store at http://www.etsy.com/shop/feepingcreatures. Simple enough, no?

Basically, I'm hoping Etsy's craft show vs. eBay's flea market will ultimately prove a better fit for the feeps. I'm sorry to leave my eBay rating behind and have to start again from scratch, but that's not a compelling enough reason in the end. So! We shall see how it goes.

Sunday, March 7, 2010

Crazy Eyeball Snail

It's probably looking at you, but how can you tell?

Saturday, March 6, 2010

The Feep Factory

I was feeping up to the last minute in prep for STAPLE! today, so there are many new feeps to see. But unless you come to the show you'll have to wait until I get a chance to process the photos. :)

Friday, March 5, 2010

Whirling Dervish Necklace

STAPLE! is tomorrow (3/6/2010), so if you've a yen for indie comics and art, and you're near Austin, you should come. 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM at the Monarch Event Center. Doot!

Thursday, March 4, 2010

Curly Blue Dragon

A new variety of feep has emerged. I'll post photos of it in the next couple of days.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Purple Long-Horned Monster

Unlike a dragon, this feep prefers to be a bit more organized with its treasure hoard.

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Striped Octopus

That's right, it's Tentacular Tuesday!

Grumpy Monster Silhouette

An appropriate image for a morning that began with me stepping in cat vomit.
