Curly-Horned Monster Necklace

I believe this feep is attempting to assimilate itself into a pirate's treasure chest. I suppose if you're a piece of jewelry, being part of a hoard can be quite an honor.

Purple Cyclops

That's an armadillo pelvis, just in case you were wondering.

Sea Turtle with Red Noses

When I found out the red noses for this year's Red Nose Day were monster noses, I had a friend in England send me a set in exchange for a donation to their team. [They are actually red; that orange splotch is a combination of the flashlight I was using to illuminate the scene and the crappiness of my creaky old digital camera.]

It seemed natural to pose a monster with the monsters, so here we are.

The lion, by the way, is Clayborn, an important member of the menagerie of my youth.

Excercise caution when leaving feeps unattended

One gets the distinct impression that no good is being got up to.

Bugged-Out Round

As you can see, I did indeed get photos of the new feeps done. I'm not listing these on Etsy right away, though, because ...

They're going to be featured in a Feeping Creatures art show at Austin Books during the month of May. If you're in town, I urge you to check it out!

Long-Horned Slug

The search for the pirates' hidden treasure takes one on a journey across a curiously unsettling landscape.

Criss Cross Magnet

Okay. Taking new feep photos today. For reals.

Green Cat

Sigh. Nothing like waking up on a Saturday morning to a cat who needs to go to the vet. Again. Apparently elderly cats like to go to the doctor as much as elderly people do.

Pink & Black Long-Eared Feep

I have quite a swarm of new feeps made, I just need to photograph them. Sounds like my weekend project is set.

Spiked Dragon Bird

My nephews are visiting, so I brought them a dragon puppet to play with. I did not know this before, but apparently my purpose in life is to work the puppet, and taking time out for trivial things like eating and sleeping is a serious imposition on dragon puppet-time.

Purple Von Snoot

Either this feep is trying to make a decision but is on the fence about it, or it has come to sell contraband to a fence. Or perhaps it's on the fence about fencing. Who can say?

Tentacle Squid Wine Charm

Hard to type a caption, given that one hand is currently trapped under a cat.

Von Snoot Snake Orneryment

For when you just gotta have gourd bling.

Bat Demon Orneryment

Acorn surfing. It's a thing.*

Purple Coil Twist

These are, I believe, the tubes from which the internet is made. If you journey down inside you will discover that everything is day-glo green and black (take care not to step in the You Tube comments).

Coil Fish

If you are a predator who feasts on earnest young poets, the base of a microphone stand at a coffee shop is not a bad place to hang out.

Spiral-Capped Cyclops

That look of horror at the sun is due to the drought here, and concern for the toads.

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

Green Lamprey

The lamprey wonders if perhaps the time has come to parasitically attach oneself to a new host ...

Orange Tabby Cat

All of the feeps from our exciting little caterpillar tale are freshly listed in the Feeping Creatures Etsy Store. The caterpillar, sadly, has taken its leave, presumably to seek out porches with fewer curious monsters.

Feeps and Giant Fuzzy Caterpillar - victory!

The final decision: one brave feep will stand for a photo with the possibly very dangerous fuzzy caterpillar, while the rest will back away to a safe distance, lest the flash enrages the beast.

Feep Committee

As with any situation in which one is uncertain what to do, one can indefinitely delay taking action by forming a committee.

Orange Round and Giant Fuzzy Caterpillar

Getting ready to round the corner, a-jitter with nervous anticipation. Prepare for slapstick in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

Purple Vulture and Giant Fuzzy Caterpillar

Recently we had a squatter on the back porch: the caterpillar of a giant leopard moth (my favorite kind of moth, truth be told). The feeps could not resist mounting an expedition to seek out this mythical beast, and here we have one of our intrepid explorers on the verge of discovery.

Grimacing Curl Necklace

Here to prove that curly cues ain't always nice.

Evil Cat Wyrm ACEO

Believe it or not, I'm slowly assembling a round of new work to list in the Etsy shop. This is a drawing I finished up recently. I'd actually done the line work quite some time ago, and then it sat on my desk for months and months, waiting to be colored. Well, now it's finished and framed and everything, and just needs to be added to the shop.

I will, of course, let you know when the new listings are live.

Fire Dragon

Seriously, how can it thunder like that all morning and yet we still don't get any rain?

Saturday, April 2, 2011

Platypus

One of these days I will remember to make an echidna feep.

Glow-in-the-Dark Skull

Long week at the plant, ha ha.
