Coiled Tentacle Twist

Here we are at the end of January, which means STAPLE! is but a month and some change away. Soon it will be time to start cranking the gears on the ol' feep-makin' machine.

Glow-in-the-Dark Monster Ghost

I put a layer of glow-in-the-dark paint on this drawing. This is what it looks like with the lights off.

Curly Slug Necklace

Another of those unfortunate pendants who turns out to have a fear of heights.

Eyeball Squid Necklace

With enough coffee, you too can achieve these amazing ocular results.

Pale Blue Naultilus

It's one of those "gazing over the precipice" days.

Curly-Horned Rounds Monster Wine Charm

This feep pairs well with either red or white (but probably not rosé).

Ice Feep Orneryment

The heater went out last night and it is currently 51 degrees in the house. So a feep made of ice seems apropos this morning.

Green Cat Snake

Both the cat aspect and the snake aspect are perfectly content with a meal of rodents.

Horned Slug

While the horns are truly fearsome, it does take awhile for the slug to get up to ramming speed.

Platypus

I keep forgetting to make a feep echidna. Must get on that.

Octopoid

I'm going to experiment with converting my desk into a standing desk. Unfortunately, this will mean losing the shelf I put new feeps on to keep them out of sight and out of mind of a certain very bad cat. If this whole standing desk thing works out, I shall have to come up with a new solution to that particular problem.

Bat Demon Orneryment

I do try to make many of the orneryments non-season-specific, so you don't have to feel guilty about not having taken them down by mid-January.

Pink & Blue Cat

Sure, the plant is sturdy and many times larger than the cat, but that just means it's a challenge to figure out how to destroy it.

Treetop Monsters

I know I posted this piece before, but I don't think I ever showed you what it looked like all framed up. In the case, the frame became a part of the piece (no, I didn't paint the frame, but I thought they worked well together nonetheless).

Duck-Billed Eel

A very cuddly little critter, apart from the poisonous heel spikes and the electricity field.

Fire Squid

I'm assuming the only creature a giant space squid would fear would be a giant space whale.

Samurai Feep-o-Lantern

After three solid months of easy themes I was trying to think of something that typifies January. Were I up north it would be snow, snow, and more snow. But here? Just kinda cold(ish) and gray. Not a very exciting theme. So instead, let's just keep Halloween going.

Turtleface

This feep must also have a huge pile of deadlines today.

Purple Ghost Magnet

Shown here before the magnet was affixed.

Sunday, January 9, 2011

Blue Coil Cyclops

Always remember to check your surroundings for giant predators.

Rufus von Snoot

I have a smattering of feeps I've yet to photograph, so I may do that today. These will be the last of the 2010s!

Glow-in-the-Dark Feep-o-Lantern

It seemed an appropriate subject matter for glow-in-the-dark.

Feep Snail Coffee Hour

Coffee increases the feep snail's speed from .0000001 MPH to .000001 MPH. Zoom!

Feep Onesie - Bean Sprout

An inordinate number of my friends had babies last year, and I did manage to make feep onesies for a few people. This one here was from a pack of "draw your own" with white onesies and fabric markers, so I drew a feep inspired by sprouting beans.

There will be official, printed feep onesies in the very near future - the folks who print my shirts now have the setup for doing 'em. I just hope to have some designs ready before all the 2010 babies get too big.

Black & Red Tentacle Mollusc

What kind of monster would it be if it didn't have a bowl o' bones for breakfast?

Monday, January 3, 2011

Feathered Eyestalk

It was awfully generous of the new year to start on a weekend.

Eyeball Feep-o-Lantern

Welcome to 2011, y'all. My glasses broke last night, so today I have even more empathy for my little one-eyed creations than I might ordinarily.
