"L" and "M" were the last feeps to get names, because I was having a really hard time finding a pair of words I liked that started with those letters. I finally went with an insider nod to Austin.

Three-eyed feeps are somewhat rare, primarily because I am lazy and rolling out three eyeballs and making them all the same size is more of a pain than rolling out two or one.

I spent some time yesterday on Turtle Rescue Detail - found a sizable turtle a long way from the creek and wound up having to carry her quite a ways to get to a part with deep enough water for her. She didn't seem to think it was the most fun she'd ever had.

For a creature covered in spikes, this feep seems awfully hesitant. Perhaps it prepares to wade into a sea of balloons, and happens to hate loud noises?

Three letters today? Oh, how I spoil you. But you can't really split up the Sluggenthorpes, now can you? I mean, just look at those "faces."

Shirt Feep

A few years ago, when I was working on the design for the feep drawing I was going to put on my silkscreen t-shirts, I tried to draw something that looked sort of like something I'd sculpt. I'd never actually made a feep exactly like that, though, so of course I had to turn around and sculpt a feep based on the shirt feep.

These days I use the feep drawings to create monsters that would be difficult to sculpt - might as well work to the strengths of the given medium - and I will eventually come out with a new silkscreen design that's more 2D-focused. But this one has served me well for some time, and certainly has a canonical feep look to it.

A couple of months ago I was commissioned to make a feep pig, and this was the result. That's not a petri dish, by the way: it's sitting in a lid because the glaze I put on it was still drying as I was taking these pictures, so I needed to be able to move it without touching it.

Are we at "E" already? Why, yes we are. "Epizoon" essentially means "parasite," though I think we'd all agree that there's no harm in giving up a little blood for such a cute iggle monster, no?

(Okay, the bone is actually from a dog treat. Feeps only eat processing power!)

Onward to C and D. The family portrait mat I was putting all these monsters into only had 20 holes, so a few monsters had to double- or triple-up in order to fit the whole alphabet.
