Feep-o-Lantern Alight

Well, my carving tool broke while I was working on this one, so I had to finish it with a knife. Not the ideal circumstances for making a feep-o-lantern, but what can one do?

This feep is quite fond of a joint that's basically just a little hole in the wall.

Barnacle and Coelacanth

One of the other artists in the Hideout art show, Kristin Hogan, makes stuffed sea creatures such as squid, nautili, and this coelacanth. I would like to think the feep is performing a symbiotic service to the fossil fish rather than just being eaten outright.

The snat looks as though it's all set to become the coffee burglar. Don't let your mug out of your sight!

I'm going to head down to the Hideout this afternoon to put up a bunch of new ACEOs in the art show, and to photograph a small handful of new feep figurines. It's high time I got some feep pix in downtown Austin.

Cat Cyclops Magnet

Seen here before the magnet was affixed, and it was thus unable to seek refuge from the deer sukll by clinging to the side of a fridge.

Beebat ACEO

I'm guessing the beebat is omnivorous, perhaps starting off with a pollen salad before hitting the main course of flying insects.

Curly Glow-in-the-Dark Ghost ACEO

A little Halloween-themed ACEO for ya, done with glow-in-the-dark paint. Which, by the way, is a huge pain to work with. It's very translucent, so it requires several coats to get a good, bright glow. Maybe I need to try a different brand of paint. Nevertheless, I am pleased with the end result.

Feep o' the Morning

As you may have noticed, I changed the name of the blog a few days ago. This is a new feep I drew to be the blog mascot. I'm still trying to get the design of image plus text squared away, so bear with me on that. But here it is, the Morning Feep. I'll leave it as an exercise for the viewer to determine whether or not I am a morning person.

Blue Glow Squid Necklace

You must pass the Gauntlet by defeating the Squid Guardian before you may have any coffee.

Feep Snail

Mayhap the shape of the feep snail draws somewhat from objects that occur naturally in my vicinity.

Glow Snoot Snake

The snoot snake attempts (unsuccessfully) to hypnotize the butt of a cat.

Bat Demon Pendant

I couldn't decide if this should be an orneryment or a necklace, so for the moment I've let it just be a pendant. We'll see whither it trends.

Weepy Demon ACEO

This is one of those random drawings I come up with when I'm sitting in a coffee shop, doodling without any specific intent. I sort of get the feeling the tears are not evidence of sadness, but rather a form of attack whereby the demon shoots water from its eyeballs.

Blastoff Bat

It is definitely time to be crankin' out the bat-themed art. Bat wings are one of my favoritest things to draw.

Perhaps it is time to consider putting the treasure back where you found it, lest our friend here finds it necessary to become persuasive.

Austin Sketchgroup has gone and put up a bunch of new stuff at The Hideout (617 Congress, Austin, TX), and I've included several of the new pieces you've seen here recently. If you'd like to see them in person, head down there this month to check 'em out.

I've got a few new ones on the way, too, a bunch of Halloween-themed ACEOs. I guess most of my stuff is Halloween-themed in some sense, but I'm talkin' bats and ghosts and things.
